Pet Hates

Postby Geeza on Sat Oct 27, 2007 1:08 pm

My two pet hates when commuting through traffic are scooters or mopeds filtering along the inside lane when I'm on the outside and car drivers pulling over for me.
The second one may seem ungratefull and if someone has eased over for me I do acknowledge them but I'd rather they didn't move over, let the biker do the work.
Cars see a bike coming and move over often not looking if there is anything on their inside with obvious consequences. I go round the outside when safe to do so and look further ahead than just the car immediately in front or next to me. Sometimes they pull over hard as if I've scared them, whats that about, certainly not safe.
To all car drivers (and I'm one) pay attention to what your doing and let the biker concentrate on what he/she's doing.
As for the scooter boys (I say boys as I havn't seen one female doing it yet) on the inside, I do make a habbit when I see it of confronting them, usually at the next set of lights and telling them to get on the F*kin mans side.
On most of the roads I travell on this is a cycle lane that they are on, not mopeds and scooters.
Thems my moans, anyone else got any.
It's not what you ride, just that you ride
